Summer is made for Sunday
Every Sunday, during my morning coffee, I’ll share three powerful ideas that are changing the world. Some ideas will be ads or about advertising. Some may be about fashion or music. Idea 1.
Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 1
It is a movie theater movie. Big, explosive, and full of visually-impactful scenes and carefully-curated artistic treatments. It’s so essential to the viewing experience that director Christopher McQuarrie and Tom himself share a short message of appreciation for the audience watching at the theatre before the movie begins. I’ve never seen that before. Go see it.
Idea 2.
Bud Light Living
The brand is going up and down. For marketers, it’s definitely worth watching. A case on how a brand gets back to 1st place. Is this the perfect moment for innovation or transformation? Marcondes has plenty on his plate. Enjoy the ride. I’ll be watching.
Idea 3.
Taika and the rise of celebrity-created products (and creative marketing).
Director, writer, actor, and now creative director. Taika Waititi wants it all. Is the product better than the creator? Is the brand better than the creative? Is Ryan Reynolds a monster? This is not a new trend, but definitely–we’re getting the best part of a branding masterclass era of actors in Hollywood – influencer marketing and product persona all rolled into one. The matcha latte is not bad at all. The UX/UI is gorgeous. Who’s next?
